Real Madrid midfielder, Sami Khedira is set to join Juventus towards next season. The Germany international, who found himself placed permanent on the bench at Real Madrid, was earlier linked with EPL top clubs, with Chelsea said to be a top contender for the free player.
Khedira fell in the pecking orders while injured at the beginning of the season, but even while he was fit to play, the fired Ancelloti preferred the duo of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric at the heart of the midfield, and both of them had gone ahead to form a sort of unbreakable partnership ever since. Isco was also ahead of him in the substitution order.
After expressing his disappointment at the treatment the club meted out on him, the 28 year-old has gone ahead to sign a deal at Turin with the Italian champions that is worth 4 million pounds per year. It is said that his medicals will be completed soon (which could have been done right now). The Chelsea-target appeared only 11 times for Real Madrid this season, and his 5-year stint with the club has ended not on the best note. He was seen as a potential Chelsea recruitment after Madrid refused to renew his contract and he became available for a free transfer.
However, Khedira’s transfer to Juventus could have positive impact on the blues as that could mean we will be able to sign Arturo Vidal on the cheap with reports already claiming Chelsea are interested in signing him.
