Mourinho Confirms He Wants 100k-A-Week UCL Winner To Play For Chelsea Next Season

Jose Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has made it clear he would like to retain Chelsea legend Petr Cech at the club next season. The Czech republic goalkeeper has been linked to Arsenal, Liverpool, PSG and lately Beskitas after finding himself warming the bench for the majority of the season due to the excellent form of Thibaut Courtois who is now Mourinho’s first choice.

In the soon to end season, Cech could only muster four premier league appearances for the blues. Although the Champions league winner’s agent has confirmed the player has been given the green light to leave the club in the summer should he want to, Mourinho has confirmed the player would be forced to stay with the blues if the decision is his ( Mourinho ) to make.

“I don’t know if it’s absolutely true what the agent is saying. Said the special one.

“Petr is one of my best so I would like him to stay and I have to say; yes, I am optimistic that he can be here next year.”

In my opinion, I think Cech still have at least 5 quality years in him and he probably knows this hence he wants to leave the club. That to me is fair enough, he has served the club dilligently and I think Mourinho should allow him go and instead work on bringing in a replacement for him. However, I do not buy the idea of letting the player go to Arsenal.

We should not be strengthening our rivals if we are serious about winning the league again next season. If he wants to move to Tottenham, I would not mind but a move to Arsenal who are likely to once again be our rival for the title next season would make no sense.
