Mourinho Set To Bring EPL's Most In Form Striker To Stamford Bridge

Jose Mourinho

Reports this week claim Chelsea already has an agreement in place to sign Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann in a deal said to be worth as much as £43.5 million. Many Chelsea fans had thought with the signing of Griezman imminent, Chelsea would have no need for another striker but no, they are wrong as if you believe reports in the British media, Chelsea are close to signing Premier league most in form striker Christian Benteke.

With Didier Drogba on his way out of the club and Loic Remy and Diego Costa as injury prone as ever, Chelsea manager has reportedly earmarked the Aston Villa striker a chance to play with the blues next season.

Benteke who has been revitalised under manager Tim Sherwood has made clear in the past he will like to play for a champions league club and is very likely to grab with both hands the opportunity to play for Chelsea. In the last 10 games, the big Belgian has scored a total of 11 games. His form scoring form has helped Aston Villa escape relegation.

Aside Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are also reported interested in signing the player. Aside the opportunity of playing in the champions league, Benteke will also have the opportunity of getting a big increment on his £60,000-a-week wage with Aston Villa.
