Mourinho to decide on future of Chelsea star KDB – and possibly Khedira?

While it hasn’t been announced that Mourinho will be the next manager of Chelsea, there seems to be increasingly little doubt that the switch is already well under way. Interestingly, some of the most certain signs have come not from Abramovich, nor from any of the senior players, but from the young Belgian attacker Kevin De Bruyne. KDB spent the last season on loan at Werder Bremen, and he had a superb season. With 10 goals and 10 assists in 33 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit, De Bruyne has only served to further add to his already tremendous reputation. De Bruyne is seen as one of the best young European prospects in the world today, and it’s only a matter of time before he establishes himself at a big club.

Many have predicted that De Bruyne would spend another season out on loan after the success of the first, but his agent Patrick De Koster revealed yesterday that nothing is certain. De Koster said that the decision of what to do with De Bruyne next season would lay with the incoming manager…one Jose Mourinho! If Mourinho is willing to give De Bruyne a chance in the first team, then he will be eager to stay and fight for his place. However, if this all comes a season to soon for the young Belgian, there will be no shortage of suitors for another season-long loan deal.

Further to this news, it is being reported that one of the players Mourinho most wants to bring with him to Stamford Bridge is Sami Khedira. The German midfielder with the massive engine brings a wealth of experience with him, and with Frank Lampard turning 35 at his next birthday, it makes sense to have several viable options fighting for the central midfield positions. Khedira is a box to box midfielder in the same style as Lampard, but he is better known for starting off attacks than he is for finishing them. Khedira would be an excellent and established signing, and I for one would be delighted to have him.

We’ll be following this one closely.

I follow the German Bundesliga very closely and i must say that Chelsea would be totally stupid to sell Kevin de Bruyne to Dortmund. He is an unbelievable Player and in my opinion one of the top 3 talents of the Bundesliga along with Götze and Draxler. He is definitely stronger than Osacar and in my opinion even outruns Hazard. Just take him back home and you’ll see.

KDB should be one of those to replace Marin , Benayoun , Romeu , Ferreira , Ba , Essien , Malouda who should depart. There should be more than enough room in the Chelsea team for the youngster. The main reason why we are not challenging for EPL is our lack of depth .You may not agree with me on Ba … consider his weaknesses : poor first touch , lack of pace , not clinical , poor dribbler . He will never be a success in that role at Chelsea.
