Chelsea have been in talks for weeks over the move of Ghana international, Baba Rahman from his German club, FC Augsburg to the Stamford bridge for summer, as the 20 year old has been impressive following his move from Africa just 3 seasons ago. Chelsea are planning a 20 million pound-move for the left back, who has helped his club to a 6th place finish in the Bundesliga with his solid defensive abilities.
Mourinho is keen on getting the defender as he wants to make little changes to his title-winning side. Talking of changes, the Special One said,
“I know that our rivals are not going to accept this title. They are going to fight and there are three or four teams that will be aiming for us. We have to be better – me, the players and our squad.”
He has reportedly contacted Ghana’s national team coach, Avram Grant, who once coached Chelsea after his departure, in order to make him convince Baba to join the Stamford bridge side. The defender is also being chased by a couple of premier league sides.
After left back signed, Luis Filipe failed to impress at the Stamford bridge following his move from last season’s La Liga champs, he is being tipped for an exit, back to his former club. Hence Chelsea wants to make a replacement for him, and Baba fits as one.
