Amid reports linking him to big Premiership clubs, Newcastle’s defensive midfielder Cheik Tiote admits that he’s enthusiastic about the opportunities which have arrived for him, but that his future is with the Toons.
Chelsea’s Andres Villas-Boas was the most interested in the midfielder, but the relationship doesn’t seem to go both ways as the 25-year-old doesn’t seem to be too interested in their offer.
“I am flattered by clubs interested but there is nothing official,” he told skysports.com.
“When teams such as Chelsea, City, Liverpool, United are interested in you it makes you think twice, but I love Newcastle, I belong to Newcastle and I enjoy my life here.”
The midfielder was linked with a possible move over the summer as well, but now he’s really expected to be one of the most wanted players in the Premiership when the January transfer market will be opened once again.
The Ivorian joined United in 2010 and managed to become a very important part of the team ever since. He’s also been a regular first teamer in the Ivorian Coast ever since his debut in 2009, and now he promises to be one of the most wanted players in January.
