Reports have emerged that Chelsea winger, Mohamed Salah imminent departure is on the brink of completion as Italian side Fiorentina have triggered the clause allowing him to remain in Italy for another 6 months. Italian giants Fiorentina have taken up an option to extend Mohamed Salah’s loan for another season.
The Chelsea winger has been a huge success in Italy since joining Fiorentina for the remainder of the current campaign in February and the 22-year-old is keen to stay. Fiorentina will have to pay a fee of £1 million to keep Salah until summer 2016, but it now seems highly unlikely that he will have a future at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea signed the Egypt international from Swiss outfit Basel for around £11m in last season’s winter window, after some hugely impressive performances in the Champions League.
But he struggled to force himself into the team and after a difficult 12 months he was loaned to Fiorentina as part of the deal which brought Juan Cuadrado to London on transfer deadline day. The deal included an option for a further 12-month loan and an eventual buyout clause of around £15m.
Since then, the Florence club have only lost twice in Salah’s 13 appearances and he has scored seven times and added two assists.
