Official Kuranyi not coming to Chelsea.

It is now official that Kevin Kuranyi will not be leaving Schalke and joining us or any English club for that matter.

Kuranyi though will be out of contract at the end of the summer and with some luck we can get him for free, he is a quality striker playing in a top league banging in the goals.

Kuranyi himself explained why he was not leaving this January

“Now I have the chance to make something big happen at this club, I will stay on because of this and because of (Schalke manager) Felix Magath,” he told Bild. “Even though I still feel tired due to the intensiveness of our most recent camp of training, Felix Magath has forced me to be on top of my fitness. Under his belt I have found back the keys to enjoy the game.”

Suits us really, its not like he would have been guaranteed a place once Drogba returns from Africa and no point signing a class striker to sit on the bench.
