Palermo and Juventus have agreed on terms to send Argentine striker, Paulo Dybala to Juventus for a fee of £20million [Gianluca Di Marzio]. Di Marzio is one of the most reliable sources in European football, especially in Italy. He claims that Dybala will make an annual €2.2million, and the deal will send Edoardo Goldaniga to Palermo on loan. This move could mean that longtime Juventus striker Carlos Tevez is on his way out of Italy, rumored to want to play in his native country, Argentina. Dybala will be a suitable replacement for his fellow countryman, and his stats prove that. This season, he has scored ten goals in the Serie A, but the most impressive statistic is his thirteen assists, which leads all players in Italy. Dybala was receiving interest from some of Europe’s top clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain.
This is bad news for Chelsea supporters, because Dybala would have been a great player in England. His game can be compared to Wayne Rooney’s; he has an unbelievable finish with brilliant vison and an extremely high football IQ. It surprises me that Mourinho didn’t chase his signature harder, but after Dybala admitted he would like to stay in Italy, it seemed inevitable that he would choose Juventus. Chelsea will now have to look for another striker, Alexandre Lacazette, Danny Ings, Charlie Austin, or Antoine Griezmann.
Dybala is an amazing player, and being only 21 years of age he has a very bright future. Juventus was probably the best choice for him, because switching leagues for a foreign player at a young age is very risky, especially if he was to move from Italy to England. Language could have been a problem, and that Chelsea has no Argentine players on their squad.
Look for Dybala to flourish into one of the most dominate strikers in the world at Juventus next season. He will be playing alongside Andrea Pirlo, Carlos Tevez, Claude Marchisio, and Arturo Vidal. That will be one very scary attack; all of those players have the capability of moving the ball, and moving it well. It will be up to Allegri to use these players correctly, and the rest is history.
