Personal Terms Agreed, Chelsea Target Agrees Deal, Will Earn £6.5m-A-Year

Brazil v Chile: Round of 16 - 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil

Chelsea will not be signing Barca’s Dani Alves if you believe daily express. According to daily express’ website, Barca and Alves have come to an agreement finally and the Brazilian will be extending his contract for another three years. Dani Alves has was reported to be ( by the same express ) on his way to Chelsea couple of weeks ago. Aside Chelsea, he was linked to a move to PSG.

PSG as a matter of fact were said to have reached an agreement that would have seen the Brazilian join them on a contract that would have made him the club’s highest paid player. However, this is not happening now as Express are now reporting the player will be signing a contract worth £6.5 million-a-year and will remain with Barca for another two years.

Should the report be true, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool who have all been linked to the player will have to look elsewhere for a right back to sign. As for Chelsea, I never for one thought we needed Alves at the club.

Ivanoic has been rock solid for the club in the right back position and considering he is 31, a year younger than Dani Alves, bringing in someone who is older than him to compete with him for a first team shirt would have made no sense. It is even much more senseless for Chelsea to sign the Brazilian if you consider the fact that he will be expecting to be paid at least £120,000 per week.

Alves, thanks but no thanks.
