Petr Cech Is Off But Chelsea Could Sign £15m Rated WORLD CUP Star

Petr-Cech

There have been rumours in the press lately of Chelsea star Petr Cech leaving the club in the summer. Some reports had it that PSG have already reached an agreement to sign the high rated goalkeeper. However, other reports today claim Liverpool are looking to pay £1 million and pay his £125,000-a-week wages in order to have him with them on a season long loan deal with the hope of convincing him to sign for them on a permanent basis there after.

The Cech republic international has also been linked with a move to Arsenal. The gunners are reportedly ready to pay as much as £7.5 million to acquire his services. The reports claim Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is hopeful of convincing Jose Mourinho to let the Chelsea legend join Arsenal.

And if you believe reports in the Spanish press Chelsea have started shopping for a replacement for the Cech republic international. According to reports in the Spanish press, Chelsea are keenly monitoring Inter Milan’s goalkeeper Samir Handanovic with a view of signing him in the summer as a replacement for Petr Cech who is most certainly going to leave in the summer.

The 30-year old who represented Slovenia at the 2010 world cup in South Africa is reportedly available for £15 million. He has also been linked with moves to the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and French champions PSG.

At this stage, one can’t be totally sure of Chelsea’s interest in the player or otherwise but seeing how Chelsea has been in the transfer market lately, it is hard to see how the Blues will sanction a move for a 30-year old goalkeeper who will cost £15 million and is likely to be a back up to Courtios.

Samir Handanovic is a very good good keeper ( testament to this is his listing in daily mail’s top 10 goalkeepers in the world ) but at 30 years of age, he has maybe just 5 years of active football left in him and I am not convinced he will want to spend the remaining 5 years as a back up keeper especially as he can go to other clubs such as Liverpool were he will be able to command more regular playing time.
