Petr Cech who is currently sidelined for up to a month has got some good news to comfort him by being named the Czech Republic player of the year.
This is the third time Cech has been awarded player of the year in his homeland after picking up the award in 2005 and 2006.
He beat Galatasaray’s Milan Baros who came second and Bordeaux’s Jaroslav Plasil into third.
Cech expressed his delight at picking up the word saying,
“To win this award is a great honour, no matter how many times you manage to do that.”
It is always a honour to pick up an award like this and with some luck it will lift Cech’s spirits as he battles his way back to fitness.
Well done Petr, you deserve it.
