Petr Cech – Of course we want revenge on Sunderland!

A lot of credit for Chelsea`s recent run of good form must go to goalkeeper Petr Cech, who was in sparkling form at the weekend in the 1-1 draw with Everton in a 4th round FA Cup tie.

Tonight as Chelsea visit Sunderland at The Stadium of Light, where Carlo Ancelotti and Petr Cech will be looking to erase all thoughts of the last time the two sides met, a 3-0 home drubbing, Cech is gunning for his third straight clean sheet in the league.

Cech, speaking to the clubs official website said, “I wouldn’t think much about the previous game, of course we want to take some revenge by winning this game but it’s more the fact we need to be careful not to repeat the same mistakes as we made in that first game.”

Ancelotti was quick to praise his keeper by saying,” I think Petr Cech is playing with continuity, very well and with confidence. He is a fantastic goalkeeper, we know this and in every game he is showing fantastic quality.”

Cech will be hoping for a quite night in the north east, but if and when called upon he will be doing his best to keep his record of shut outs going for a little longer.
