Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay has declared that the club will do everything in its powers to keep the Ivorian star striker Didier Drogba at the club.
After the goal Drogba scored in the FA Cup final against Liverpool, which at the end of the day made the difference, the Blues official has confirmed the fact that there’s no way Drogba will leave Chelsea, not before they will talk about a possible contract extension over and over again.
“We’re always talking to Didier about a new deal, Didier loves Chelsea and we love Didier,” he said.
“We will continue to have the conversations and we’ll see where that goes and as soon as we’ve got anything to say we’ll let you know.”
Chelsea have been dependent on the Ivorian this season, as only a few scares goals from Sturridge and Torres were scored except for Drogba’s, who was in a blistering form despite his already advanced age.
It has been rumoured that Drogs might choose to join Anelka in China for a massive salary, but the French striker who is now also a manager, has declared that he doesn’t see the move happening any time soon, so perhaps we will still be able to see Drogba in the Premiership next season.
Do you think he should stay?
Yes Chelsea should definitely fight to keep Drogba for the next two to three years.Didier Drogba is by far a Chelsea FC legend.Any highly ambitious top club in the world would and should fight to keep their legends in the Club and let them play to the best of their abilities until they can play no more(retire). Drogba still has the passion, the pace, the goal-scoring touch and also outside the pitch,he’s a great caracter and leader. So let him go? Big teams like Barcelona, both Milan and even Real madrid will waiting on the counter to sign Drogba should Chelsea make a big mistake to let him go! A legend is a legend. The mystery of the Drogbamania still rolls on at Chelsea fc’s advantages. Vladimir G
It makes me sad when chelsea talk about drogba contract talk.chelsea is an ingreat, and they will not lean from the likes of man u and inter and ac milan. We should learn how to keep our veterans, they will serve at many capacities either as a teacher to the younger ones, they can also serve as backroom staff even after their playing career.A look at what is happening in bacar indicate that it is always good for club to appreciate their legend.
they should keep him….

please Drogba must not leave chelsea now.we need him more than ever.chelsea’s board must ensure Drogba stays at chelsea.he is a prolific striker.the best of his kind.he should retire at chelsea.please tell him to stay not because of he want to stay but because we the fans want him to stay.we love him and he should know that.’DROGBA CHELSEA LOVE YOU’
MAY THE LORD HELP CHELSEA TO WIN 19/5/ 2012 MATCH. LET DROGBA STAY IN CHELSEA TEAM. LET TORESS GO OUT FROM CHELSEA COMPLETLY. dont you see he his the one who has brought misery in chelsea. without drogba no chelsea
The simple answer is of course YES. It would be absolute madness to let him go, he is Pure Class!
