Police Investigate Ashley Cole Shooting

The News of the World have reported that the police are investigating claims that Ashley Cole fired a gun at someone during a training session at the Chelsea facility at Cobham.

The former Arsenal player and current England left-back is said to have fire a high-powered rifle at Tom Cowan, a Loughborough sports science student who is completing an internship at Chelsea.

The incident is reported to have happened in the dressing room the day after Chelsea’s FA Cup fourth-round defeat against Everton.

The News of the World reports that went into shock after being hit with a pellet from a .22 calibre air rifle which is the most powerful gun that can be owned in the UK without a license.

Chelsea are also currently investigating the incident. They released a statement saying: “We have fully investigated the incident and we are taking appropriate action. We will not be commenting further as it is an internal matter”.

Ashley Cole has played for Chelsea since the incident, the 2-0 win against FC Copenhagen in the Champions League. Chelsea’s next game will be a crucial Premiership tie against Manchester United. Chelsea will look to salvage their season while Manchester United will look to put more points between themselves and Arsenal who are only four points behind them.
