PSG Will Watch Hazard – Cabaye

Newly signed PSG midfielder Johan Cabaye has spoken out ahead of his sides Champions League quarter-final clash with Chelsea. The Frenchmen recently made the move from Newcastle, returning to his home league and has joined a star studded PSG line up who is looking forward eagerly to their Champions League prospects. When quizzed on the threats the Premier League leaders possess, Cabaye drew attention to in-form Belgian winger Eden Hazard.

“He’s one of the best players I’ve played against. Eden Hazard is the Chelsea player. He will be the player that we will need to pay attention to; we will have to watch him.

“He can make the difference at any time; he can be dangerous with each acceleration. But then, the whole world knows that.”

Hazard has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 16 times in 42 appearances, and regularly creating headaches for Premier League defences. Still only 23, he has every chance of becoming a Chelsea legend, and his performance will be one of the deciding factors when the Blues face PSG in April.

Wary of Hazard as they may be, PSG are certainly no slouches themselves when it comes to offensive talent. Leading the Ligue 1 table and averaging more than two goals a game, they cut an imposing figure that is capable of challenging any side in world football today. Their own talisman takes the form of the ever fascinating Swede, Zlatan Ibrahimovich. Having joined PSG from Milan with Thiago Silva in 2012, Zlatan has been a sensation. This season alone he’s scored 40 times in as many matches, and when at his best (as he often is) PSG become an irresistible attacking threat.

It’s a fascinating encounter, and betting sites reflect the uncertainty surrounding the result. Two weeks out from the quarter-final match up, odds makers have the Parisians as 2-1 favourite to win at their home stadium, with overall odds on their qualification being dead even.
