RDM – There are offers for Romeu but he's not leaving Chelsea!

The Chelsea manager was asked this morning about Oriol Romeu, and admitted that they have offers on the table for the young Spaniard, but went on to say he was a Chelsea player to stay.

The young midfielder who has played only 4 times this term, has been the subject of speculation recently, with reports suggesting the player could leave in order to get some first-team football.

“He’s part of my plans, He’s a young talent with good prospects for the future.” said Di Matteo

“He’s got offers from other clubs. I’ve had calls from Italy about him.

“He’s been playing more lately and he will be playing more in the future as well.”

This comes as music to my ears, as I rate Romeu highly, with his keen eye to find the right pass, and ability to play as a centre-back or central midfield player. He will be very much needed come December and January, as we have a whole 9 games to play in December alone, and we will also lose John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses to the African Cup of Nations in January, leaving the squad a tad stretched.

I would like to see Oriol prove his worth to the team in the coming months and no doubt he will.
