Eden Hazard’s dream move to Real Madrid is about to come true as the La Liga giants have reportedly agreed to pay €100m (£88.5million) plus add-ons Chelsea for the winger. According to reports from the Guardian, both clubs have agreed verbally and an announcement will follow shortly.
Real Madrid have been in talks with the Europa League champions to land a deal for the Belgium international.
Hazard has always been open in his intention of joining Zinedine Zidane in Spain. He has a year left in his contract and told the club that he will not sign a new deal. The Premier League giant resigned to losing their talisman lest face of losing him on a free transfer next season.
The 28-year-old Belgian has always been on Zidane’s radar as part of his major revamp at the Bernabeu. One of his prospects, Luka Jovic have already inked a £58 million deal after Eintracht Frankfurt agreed to release him. Another prospect, Eder Militao from Porto also signed a £44 million contract.
It is expected that Hazard will sign a six-year contract with the Spanish club.
After the Europa League final in Baku, Hazard said, “I think it’s a goodbye but in football you never know.
“My dream was to play in Premier League, I did this for seven years in one of the biggest clubs in the world so now maybe it’s time for a new challenge. I will decide in a few days. My target was to win the trophy, that’s the only thing in my mind.”
“I took my decision already, I said that two weeks’ ago. Now it depends on the club, both clubs. I’m just waiting like the fans wait. We’ll know in a couple of days,” Hazard said.
