According to a very connected vital football source who is connected to super agent Jorge Mendes, Chelsea are going to finalise the deal to sign Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann by weekend.
According to source, the player and Chelsea have agreed personal terms and Atletico Madrid has agreed to sell. All thats is left is for the two clubs involved to agree on how long it will take for the total amount of money is to be paid.
It is believe Chelsea will be paying £43.5 million to sign the player which amounts to his release clause according to various reports. Should he sign for Chelsea, he will offer us the directness which the likes of Willian and Oscar are currently not offering the team.
And it his signing could well mark the end of Loic Remy’s short Chelsea career. Although even if Chelsea signs Griezmann ( which seems inevitable ), Remy will still be needed especially as Drogba is likely to leave but knowing the Frenchman, he is very likely to want to leave for a club where he can get better playing time.
Should Griezmann’s arrival force Remy out, I personally do not think any Chelsea fan will be bothered about the departure of the Frenchman as he has spent more time on the bench or on the treatment table and with Bamford and Solanke knocking on the door, Remy will be adequately replaced should he leave.
