According to latest reports from Spain, the agent of former Tottenham’s coach, Juande Ramos will be traveling to London in order to discuss a potential Stamford Bridge move for his client. The former Real Madrid coach is been rumored to take over from Guus Hiddink at the end of the season. If discussions between both parties eventually goes down well, Ramos may be officially announced, Chelsea’s new coach before the end of the season.
Chelsea owner, Roman Abrahmovich, recently sacked Portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho, after leading the club to their worst start in as many years, just barely months after winning the league title. The Roman Army currently hold the record for the worst start to a Premier League defence in history, after suffering a very poor first half of the season. Their serious dip in form have seen them languishing in the bottom half of the table after 19 matches.
Chelsea are currently on 20 points as we head into the new year, the team is only 3 points above relegation waters. Interim manager, Guus Hiddink, has not won a match since taking over from Mourinho two weeks ago. Juande Ramos has previously had a taste of English football in the past. He was head coach at Tottenham in 2007, replacing Martin Jol. He was sacked just after a year, as a result of a nightmare start under him, which saw Spurs taking just 2 points from their opening eight.
The 61-year old Spaniard is currently a free agent after refusing to renew his contract with Ukrainian side, Dnipro. He has managed about 15 teams, including Real Madrid, Sevilla, Malaga, CSKA Moscow, Espanyol, Dnipro, Tottenham and a few others. Ramos, despite having a poor second season at Spurs, guided the team to their first title since 1999, in a 2-1 win over Chelsea at Wembley in the league cup finals.
