Roman Abramovich Tells Mourinho He Can Spend £50m On UCL Finalist

Roman Abramovich

The Turin’s Old Lady made it to the final of the 2014/2015 UEFA Champions league slated for June 6. Their first appearance in the final of the continental competition in a decade. Having won the Serie A back to back in the last 4 seasons, only 90 minutes now stand between them and the coveted trophy. Although Pogba has made 9 appearances (and a goal) out of a possible 12 in the journey to the final, his contributions to the club’s final place berth cannot be overlooked.  His brilliant performance in the heart of the midfield on Wednesday guided the Serie A Champions to their 8th finals since 60 years of the League’s existence.

Following such wonderful displays from the France international, most clubs around Europe are all in a race for the services of the 22 year old. PSG, Real Madrid, Chelsea , Manchester United, Barcelona and of recent Manchester City  have all shown interest in his services. Juventus are banking on this demands and have slammed a buyout clause of £70 million on the Frenchman. Oui!!!

But Chelsea isn’t ready to buy at that price, as the club owner has expressed his willingness not to exceed the record transfer fees of £50 million, Torres’. The Russian wants the club to obey the UEFA financial fair play rule. Hence, able to only spend a lot on transfers if players of high worth are sold. With Petr Cech the only potential big money-worth player that could be leaving Chelsea at the end of the season, the club will have to wait for 3 more seasons if they are to bring in Pogba for £70 million pounds.

However, the middle eastern folks at the Etihad are ready to spend big on the star. Manchester City are ready to pay £70 million, and £250,000 pounds per week in wages after tax. With the France international more keen on such mouth-watering deal, a move to Chelsea isn’t likely with the amount Manchester City brings to table.
