Romelu Lukaku Has Been Omitted From Champions League Squad

New signing Romelu Lukaku has been sensationally left out of Chelsea’s 22 man squad for the Champions League group stages.

All teams have had to hand their 22 man squads to UEFA and Romelu Lukaku’s name is not on the list. All teams participating in the group stages of this seasons Champions League can only name 17 foreign players and with the late arrival of Raul Meireles to Chelsea on Wednesday there is now no room for Lukaku.

With regards to the Premier League Lukaku is free to play because he is only 18 and he qualifies as one of the under-21 players, which means he does not need to be included in the 25 man squad.

It is all very complicated, but Premier League rules are different to that of UEFA. If Chelsea qualify from their group Lukaku will then be eligible to play in the round of 16 after Christmas.

Dat’s a good decision by AVB, raul is more needed in the midfield. Janaury is not too long for the capture of luca modric

Team is stocked with (very capable to outstanding) strikers right now. Can do without him for the group stage and make sure he knows his team and his role better. Where can we see the full listing of the 22?
