Chelsea continue their incredible form on and off the pitch, and after securing the transfer of Marko Marin and winning the Champions League, the Blues are close to signing the young Brazilian star Lucas Moura.
Attacking midfielder Lucas Moura has established himself as one of the most important players in the Brazilian league, and the likes of Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Chelsea and Arsenal have taken notice, but according to Sao Paolo’s president Juvenal Juvencio, The Blues are the closest to signing the attacking midfielder who will be one of the most sought-after players in this transfer window.
“At the moment it is Chelsea that are the closest team to Lucas.
“Inter made an offer of £20.2m, but this was not considered sufficient by us.
“Real Madrid is one of these interested clubs – there have been contacts with the president Florentino Perez, who admires the player.
“Lucas is a big player who will triumph in Europe, but Sao Paulo will only sell him for an enormous offer.”
Chelsea are looking to rebuild the squad which has been described by the press on several occasions as being “too old”. The likes of Drogba, Lampard, Terry and Malouda are soon going to fall into the background, while the club’s looking to bring forward new talents, despite having just won the Champions League.
