Chelsea have a host of players linked up with their national teams ahead of this weeks World Cup matches.
John Terry will join Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole for England against Slovenia on Saturday and Croatia next Wednesday. England could seal Qualification for the World Cup Finals if they win in Croatia.
Deco, José Bosingwa and Ricardo Carvalho are with the Portugal squad as they travel to Denmark on Saturday and Hungary next Wednesday. Portugal are playing the two teams that are above them in the Qualifying Group, so they need to win both games or they may find themselves out of the Finals.
Nicolas Anelka and Florent Malouda are in the France squad to play Romania this weekend, and then Serbia on Wednesday, where they could play against Branislav Ivanovic. Serbia currently lead France by five points.
Petr Cech will be with the Czech Republic against Slovakia (Saturday) and San Marino (Wednesday). They have to win both games to have just half a chance of making it to South Africa. Slovakia top the group for now with Miroslav Stoch in the team.
Michael Ballack will captain Germany against South Africa on Saturday, before facing Azerbaijan on Wednesday.
Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou will play for the Ivory Coast against Burkina Faso on Saturday, and could qualify if they win.
Michael Essien will be in action for Ghana, and John Obi Mikel for Nigeria, and wins for both will see them top their groups.
Let’s hope they all come back fit and well from their travels for the crucial game against Spurs next week!
