In what seems to be another surprise link-up as the summer transfer window approaches, the Old Lady of Turin are reportedly making moves for out-of-favour Chelsea midfielder, Ramires. It was obvious at one point or the other during the season that the Brazilian international would be leaving Chelsea at the end of the season, but nobody could have guessed Juventus would seem like a next destination for him. Although there were rumours, and they were only just rumours. Ramires is no doubt a good player, but a season marred with injuries has worked against his campaign. And beating the midfield pair of Matic and Cesc has never been achievable, as both have been consistently brilliant and were no doubt, key to the club’s successful campaign in the League.

Juventus are set to lose their star player, 22 year-old France international, Paul Pogba once the season ends. And they see Ramires, who would have otherwise had a great season as key replacement. Chelsea, Real Madrid, PSG and his former club, Manchester United have all been linked to Pogba, but it seems high-spending Etihad side, Manchester City are likely to beat them all to the race. A fee of 75 million pounds and weekly wages of 250,000 pounds have been agreed by both clubs, and conclusion could be reached in few days to come.

Ramires who could only appear 23 times in all competitions this season is valued at 22 million pounds. He is also out of the season already as he had picked up a stomach upset, while preparing for the Crystal Palace game. A move to the Serie A side wouldn’t be bad for him, as a fit Ramires can compete for first team action and enjoy games due to his strength and stamina.

And should Ramires move to Juventus, Chelsea might just have a chance of signing Pogba. In the world of football transfers, impossibility is nothing.
