Sturridge – It was easy to choose Bolton

Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge has left the bright lights of The Kings Road behind him, and moved north to Premier League rivals Bolton Wanderers. He is quite happy to escape from Stamford Bridge for a while.

With his chances of a first team place limited, even before yesterdays signing of Fernando Torres from Liverpool, Sturridge was overjoyed to be offered a place at The Reebok and link up with England striker Kevin Davies.

Owen Coyle, manager of Bolton said, “I’m really pleased to have Daniel with us. He’s a terrific young talent and one of the most exciting young strikers in the country. We are all looking forward to working with him.”

Sturridge speaking after signing yesterday said “I spoke with the manager and he outlined what he hopes to achieve and his plans. It was an easy decision to sign for Bolton Wanderers and I`m looking forward to linking up with the squad on Tuesday.”

Trotter’s fans will hope Sturridge makes a big impact during his loan spell. Sturridge is expected to make his debut in Wednesday`s home fixture against lowly Wolves.
