Chelsea had some really bad luck with their transfers in the summer as they could not sign the defenders they wanted in the club and they had to make do with some other defenders as the Blues really needed defenders in the club.
The Blues signed Papy Djilobodji as one of their panic buys but have not been able to have enough confidence to use the player who has grown increasingly frustrated with the lack of first-team opportunities at the club.
He is now ready to leave the club in the January transfer window as he plans to leave the club on loan with a number of clubs already interested in the tall centre-back.
Recent reports are stating that Marseille want the player on loan with an option to make the deal permanent if he does well enough in his loan stint.
The player might have been ready to fight for his place in the team but this is pointless as he is getting older and has only made one appearance in their Capital One Cup match against Walsall.
With the Blues also getting ready to sign new defenders in the January transfer window, it is most sensible for the defender to leave the club now that he still has something to offer any club he decides to move to.
It remains to be seen if he will do well enough to Convince Marseille that he is good enough to be a first-team player.
