Talks Drag On With Genk Over Belgian Youngster

Chelsea have been in talks with Genk over the signing of Belgian Kevin De Bruyne for some time now, but as yet no deal has been completed for the 20 year old.

De Bruyne has been speaking about a move to England on Belgian TV where he had the following to say. “My agent made it to Chelsea last Wednesday, and he had a good meeting with their management. By the end of the month the transfer could be completed because the deal is good for all three parties.”

So the player is confident that the transfer will take place, but he will not be playing for Chelsea this season if the deal does go through. He said, “ If an agreement is found with Chelsea, I will certainly stay for one more season at Genk.”

It is good that Chelsea are looking to the future by investing in younger players, but many want the club to buy players like Hazard, Nasri, Modric and Neymar. Players that can compete for a first team place now, not in 12 months time.
