Chelsea have rejuvenated their interest in PSG midfielder Blaise Matuidi. Daily Star reports that PSG are ready to sell the defensive midfielder. The France international have successfully established himself at PSG overtime and he is one of Laurent Blanc’s key players. Matuidi, who joined PSG from St Etienne in 2011 has developed into one of the finest defensive midfielders in Europe.
Matuidi is reported to be interested in a new challenge and may agree to a Chelsea move. He will not be able to feature in the Champions League. This actually means that Matuidi’s transfer to Chelsea may be in the summer. The 28-year old is considered as a direct replacement for John Obi Mikel who may also leave in the summer as he has hardly featured since the arrival of Nemanja Matic.
Matuidi is also an important member of the France national team and has racked up 37 appearances for Les Blues. The combative midfielder is rated at around £30 million. The report also claims that PSG are willing to sell the highly-rated midfielder.
Matuidi is a very physical player and his work rate makes him highly exceptional. He has appeared in the league 14 times so far. He has hit the back of the net 5 times in all competitions this season and has also racked up 4 assists. Matuidi has an average of 92.8% completed passes this season.
