Men behind the scenes at Chelsea are keeping a keen eye on the Theo Walcott contract saga, with a possible January bid lined up, to take the Arsenal speedster away from the Emirates.
The Arsenal forward has been out of favour with Arsene Wenger this season, starting only his second Premier League game yesterday, setting up all three Arsenal goals, and certainly impressing me with his deft passing and crossing, taking Arsenal´s corner kicks, erasing the ´cant cross a ball´ tag which had stuck with him for some while.
The 23 year old´s only other starts this season came in the Capital One Cup including against Reading, in which Arsenal found themselves 4-0 down, only for Theo to get a hat-trick of goals and get them back into the game and save them from elimination and humiliation.
Even that trio of goals was not enough to earn him a start in the arsenal side against Manchester United and still has no new contract signed, with his current deal due to run out in the coming summer.
I´m sure Chelsea will continue to keep tabs on the situation, with a cut-price deal looking to be available in January, with no contract currently looking to be signed. WATCH THIS SPACE!
