Romelu Lukaku is in London finalising the deal that will see him become a Chelsea player, a deal that will most probably make him one one of the most expensive teenagers ever to play the game.
Lukaku arrived early yesterday morning at St Pancras station after catching the Eurostar from Brussels, and he was whisked away to the clubs training ground at Cobham where he underwent a thorough medical.
As yet he has given no interviews as the club want to unveil him via their official TV Channel, but when a reporter asked him a question about his move to Chelsea he responded by saying, “This is the most beautiful day of my life.”
Chelsea fans may have to wait a little longer to catch their first glimpse of Lukaku, as he will not be in London for long as he has been included in the Belgium squad for their friendly against Slovenia tomorrow night. I’m sure they will not mind waiting another day or two as they will just be pleased that their club has finally started to do some serious business in the transfer market.
