Three Transfers Chelsea Can ANNOUNCE Next Week

Come the first of July, the transfer window kicks off into full gear with players switching clubs, fans biting their nails whilst praying that their club gets the next best big thing in football. This period sees clubs shedding off excess baggage and picking up potentially benefitting baggage. Oh the drama and twists of the transfer period! Always providing excitement and enough gossip to keep a fan reeling with adrenaline. Before this period though, clubs can go about securing deals, snapping up players and announcing, but officially the player joins up with the club once the window is open.

Before this summer’s window opens up, we will be examining three players that might be announced by Chelsea this week. And we will kick off with

Nicolas Gaitan: The Argentine born Benfica attacking midfielder  is a likely player to find his way to Stamford bridge this summer. All likelihood about this deal being completed is strengthened by the fact that his agent, Jorge Mendes is a close friend and also agent of Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho. Reports so far indicate that talks have already opened up between both parties and there might be a deal in the offing. Should Gaitan sign up for Chelsea, then the Chelsea team has been bolstered the more. Despite winning the premier league on a “platter of gold”, Mourinho will be mindful of the fact that defending the league title is not an easy task, as evident by City’s capitulation during the just concluded season. And this is why the reports making the rounds make sense. Gaitan is an experienced consummate professional footballer who won’t need much time to integrate with the team and will provide more options for the manager,  due to his flair and ball distribution. He is a must buy for Mourinho

Antoinne Griezmann: The French  attacking midfield has been a star player for Atletico Madrid so far this season. He plays mainly as a forward and reports are abound that Chelsea are in the market for him. With his eventual addition to the team, Chelsea would be the team to beat in the league. Already the team boast of immense  talents, like Hazard Costa, Fabgregas, Oscar, Willian and Cuadrado, the addition of Griezmann to the team would strike fear into the hearts of many an opponent. Of course all is talk presently, but there is no gainsaying the fact that Mourinho has seen the need to bolster the team , with quality and Antoinne Griezmann is definitely right up there with the best. The 22 goal man will defifntely add steel and more goals to the team. Here is to wishing Griezmann signs a contract with the blues and is announced this week.

Petr Cech: Finally Petr Cech is the third player who might be announced as leaving the club this week. Having signed from  Rennes in 2004, the legend has spent 11 trophy laden season with the blues. However, due to the emergence of Thibaut Courtois, he has had to take a back seat this season. He is expected to leave the club to seek first team football elsewhere. As much as we would prefer not to lose him, we must respect his desire to feature more in the first team, and seeing as we cant provide him with it, then we must be resigned to lose him.

So, those are the three players that might be announced this week. Being speculations, only time will tell if we are right or not
