Torres and Mata keep Chelsea winning against Arsenal

Chelsea put in a great performance away to Arsenal to stay top of the Premier league still unbeaten, and the two Spaniards, Juan Mata and Fernando Torres, were crucial in taking all three points. The whole team were solid and played their parts, with keeper Petr Cech making some vital stops but Mata and Torres had given us the lead to defend.

Mata has spoken about how good he feels after Roberto Di Matteo gave him some extra time off recently to recharge his batteries. The strategy certainly seems to have paid off, with Mata having that extra spring in his step. A long summer with Spain at Euro 2012 and the Olympics followed Chelsea’s gruelling season and Di Matteo thought that Mata needed a break. The Spaniard thinks that Chelsea will reap the benefits from this as the season progresses.

“The season is so long for every player. Maybe these two weeks will be important.

“I didn’t feel bad, but I think, with so many games, it will be good for me and now I feel very, very good.”

Torres, meanwhile, has revealed that he is really enjoying himself at Chelsea this season, and it is showing in his performances. Another well taken goal means the Spanish international striker has got five in ten games this season and his confidence and form are giving Chelsea what they need to win trophies.

“With this different style of football we are playing this season we are at the top of the league and we can dream of a very good season again.”
