Torres Or Drogba? Who Should Start?
Fernando Torres or Didier Drogba? Andre Villas-Boas faces the same problem as previous manager Carlo Ancelotti had last season.
It was a constant headache to the Italian on who to pick, who to leave out, or even play the two together. What ever he tried he never really got the desired results, and in the end many will say it is what cost him his job.
Well rather than seeing it as a problem AVB is turning it into a positive and he has had the following to say about his two star men. He said, “They are two top strikers so it is good to have this kind of availability and be able to make changes of this impact.”
He went on to add, “Their talent solves the rest.”
In yesterdays game Drogba replaced Torres after 59 minutes, and after the Spanish ace failed to score again you can be sure that Drogba will in the managers ear about starting next Saturday against Norwich City. It will be an interesting week at Cobham and I for one can’t wait to see who starts next week.
Well i fear 4 u AVB, cos dis was wat cause Carlo his job. These 2 striker are Talisma wen it comes 2 score scoring. Bt the reason why i still prefer Drogba is because he understnd d team very well since 2004. Bt dis question is always bothering my mind, ”can’t both play 2geda?
You’ve been starting torres for two games now, try and start drogba aswell and see how things workout. For me, I see no reason why AVB should not start both player. Torres can play wide why drogba as main striker or viseversa. Drogba is not a player to keep on bench. Pls, do something.
Torres should start first with lukaku on the right while malouda or juan mata at the left as the case may be then drogba should come in as a substitute to either torres or lukaku. Thanks AVB but pls sign modric and juan mata as soon as possible.
Torres to start for me. Yesterday at the game, everyone was cheering him as he didnt stop chasing the ball down.
The players are used to Drogba and is why they play better with him. Lamps hardly run forward when Torres was on but when swapped to Drogba, he ran into the box more.
We just need a couple of players who will pass the ball to him and he will pass it back and build a great relationship. Kalou is to greedy and keeps losing the ball and malouda doesnt pass much to torres
you guys are obsesed with Torres. stop spoiling our team spirit.Our coach insisted evry player is important, we can aswell drop both and let others do the job. What about Chicharito and Rooney….who should start…..dush bags!!!!
Torres should start as he can dribble.
Torres would never be Nando as long as Super Frank is on the pitch. Frankie isn’t Gerrard. Gerrard moves with the ball allowing Nando to run into space for the final pass whereas Frankie hardly makes such moves.
It’s DD and Frankie or Nando and “a creative midfielder”. Else it will never work.

all i have to say is dat we need these 2 players coz all those player playin around Torres ar so selfish to him, any time he made a gud run instead of givin him a gud pass u wil see dem negletin him but wen u luk at yesterday match wen drogba enter into d game u see all dis player givin him a gud acurate passes. So have player lyk mata & modric they must alway play wit torres
i for one can’t wait to get Mata in our squad! Kalou is useless at the minute and even though Anelka scored yesterday, he wasn’t deserving of a place in the team.
Malouda made a difference for me……but we still didn’t exploit the Baggies’ defence. Why? cos we didn’t have any creative players on the pitch!!! Lampard was majorly disappointing and always is with Torres. Nando has the potential to be the best player in the prem this year and if that means axing Lampard to put in someone with more creative umph then so be it. Or, if it means axing Torres to use Drogba who gets on alright with Lampard’s style then so be it. BUT, it has to be one or the other doesn’t it? I hope Mata’s style of play creates a partnership with him and Torres at the same time as accommodating Lampard and Drogba so we can have all of them on…..now THAT would make a major difference to our goal scoring ability this season.

Torres is not gelling cos the so called senior players are not helping him. He needs the ball to build his confidence. Lampard would rather go for glory than passing to Torres. I think we need to rethink tactics and play a 4-4-2 with Lukaku an Torres upfront. Lukaku would drop deep to pick-up balls like he did in Belgium and feed Torres. He also has a blistering pace for his size as well as thge strength and height to bully defenders in the box. Malouda and Mata(if signed) should play on the wings. Lampard should be given a seat for Ramirez and Mikel to play in the middle. For creativity we should sign Modric to play with Ramirez. Think about it.

AVB should keep playing the 4-3-3 formation with two wide fw who in person of drogba and anelka, torres is the main striker. Give him the ball and he will score sooner or later. At Liverpool he was a top star with Gerrard and 90% of passes while attacking got to torres. At Chelsea everyone is just too egoistic! One Drogba or Torres has to leave. It was just a very bad transfer for both club and player.
Dt is why i keep saying let drogba go.cos if he is still there,the team wont learn hw 2 play wit torres.it is as simple as dat.4 d case of kalou,anelka nd malouda avb shuld pls let them go if he is sure he wants 2 achieve success wit the blues.i knw dat mata is a done deal,chelsea shuld swap kalou 4 nasri + 15 mil,dat wil be a gud business wit wenger,sell anelka 2 PSG or swap him 4 hazzard nd 4 malouda,him nd drogba will be a gud swap 4 sneildier or pato.nd let lampard learn how 2 start 4rm the bench cos he is finished.chelsea has many options,jst dat they dnt wnt 2 do business or they are afraid of the playerz simple.
Torres is far better than drogba, if AVB can’t start both let drogba go or since tottham is lookin 4 striker they shuld use drogba to switch modric to chelsea. And also find a way to dispose lampard, kalou nd Anelka pls oooo. Up chelsea

torres start. because we payed a lot, it’s not all for a bench warmer. They’re both amazing players but torres needs minutes to get to know the team well and he’s gonna be here longer than drogba. Might as well let some of the strikers go to teams where they’ll actually get to play. we have a few too many
Doesn’t matter which one starts when wingers/midfielders are being selfish! I would still start Drogba though.
Torres shld start nt bcos of d money wit which we bought him but i tink he needs poorer opponents to b able to find his feet.. Wen we play tougher opponents den drogba shld start.. i tink torres shld start so dat during d dying minute of the second half avb shld introduce drogba to run through defenders who would by dat tym b weak to contain such a dangerous striker

I agree with nana and robdenny,the thing is kalou is useless and selfish,lampard has got tired legs and doesn’t feed torres the ball,we need to buy players who have no loyalty to any individual but the team,anelk in my opinion is a gud strike but he never scores in big games.adopting a 442 approach would favor torres a lot with lukaku playing beside him.I’m african and I know that kalou and drogba won’t support torres.so one of them should be sold off period! for me Torres is selfish,he doesn’t give ball to his colleagues like Drogba does. so hw do expect other players to give ball to Torres?
