The three-way battle for the Premier League title looked to be certain to be heading to Stamford Bridge after both Man Utd and Arsenal both dropped points in the last week, but now Chelsea have also done the same thing against their great local rivals Tottenham.
Man Utd are now just one point behind the leaders, and Arsenal will move back up to within three points if they manage to beat Wigan today.
Tottenham were on the offensive from the off, and were denied two possible penalties in the first 15 minutes before they were finally given one after a handball by Alex. Jermain Defoe made no mistake from the spot to put Chelsea on the defensive straight away.
When Gareth Bale made it two just after the break, the game looked all over and so it proved. Chelsea kept trying and were rewarded with a consolation Frank Lampard goal in injury time but it was too little, too late for the Blues.
***Tottenham jokes for Chelsea fans!***
