Valencia Ace All Set For Move To The Bridge
Earlier in the week we brought you the news that Chelsea had failed in their attempts to land Valencia’s Juan Mata, but according to reports in today’s papers the Spanish ace is almost certain to sign a contract at Stamford Bridge with the deal being completed later today.
Chelsea’s previous offer for Mata was rejected, but their latest offer of €27million (£23.5million) has been accepted and lawyers are now just finalising the deal.
It is good news for Chelsea and they have stolen a march on London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham, who were both reported to be interested in signing Mata over the past few weeks.
It is good to see that Roman Abramovich has acted quickly to secure the services of Mata especially after the knock back earlier in the week. Maybe with the signing of Luka Modric to come Chelsea and Andre Villas-Boas will have the squad to challenge on all fronts this season. Things are looking up at the Bridge!
