Chelsea has reported completed the signing of Nathan De souza from Atletico Paranaense of Brazil pending on a medical.
Souza-19 flied to London this week for medicals and will secure a move to Chelsea on July 1, the club official website confirmed. Nathan said: “I’m very happy that the clubs have agreed a deal. I hope I will be able to learn a lot and develop in England.”
The deal is reported to be around the figures of €4.3m although unconfirmed.
Nathan is a great all round footballer who, has demonstrated by his impressive season at Atletico Paranaense.
He is adept at finishing chances as he is at creating them. Despite wearing the number 10 shirt he’s no languorous play-maker, but is more in the mould of an all-round attacking midfield schemer such as Chelsea’s Oscar.
He’s quick of foot as well as of mind, and has shown in recent times that he’s composed when through on goal. His movement in and around the box belies his age, and he’s robust enough to battle with bigger defenders and could well prove to be an ideal signing for the Blues.
Described as a “dazzling attacking midfielder”, Nathan can also play as a second striker which as we know in this day an age, is a huge benefit in the modern game. The problem Chelsea are being faced with is that he will struggle to obtain a work permit so we can expect him to be loaned out next season in order to aid his development.
