The blues are set to complete a deal for Brazilian midfielder, Alex Teixeira. The mirror reports that the Stamford Bridge club have agreed a £32 million deal to bring the player to London. What is left is for Chelsea to trash out personal terms with the player’s representatives with a 5-year deal on the table.
The 25-year-old who has scored a whopping 22 goals in just 15 matches in the Ukranian league will be hoping to have the same impact as Willian, who was Chelsea’s last signing from Shakhtar Donetsk.
His arrival may spell doom for former Arsenal playmaker, Cesc Fabregas. The player has been more in the news for the wrong reasons rather than for his performances on the pitch. Many fingers have pointed at him as being the supposed ‘rat’ in the team and a key promoter of the supposed rebellion from the players that forced out former coach Jose Mourinho. The player has only 2 assists this season having led the way from start to finish in the assists chart last season.
Speaking on his potential move before travelling to Brazil for a vacation over a week ago, Teixeira said, ‘I know there is interest from Chelsea and there have been some talks, but at the moment nothing is concrete. Now I just want to go on vacation in Brazil then I will see what the future holds.’
Chelsea fans will be hoping the player can continue his good form when he finally dons the blue jersey.
