Stuttgart’s Defender, Antonio Rudiger has “apparently” played his last game for the German club as newly crowned English champions Chelsea are reportedly poised to making a €10m bid for the centre back.
The Express has revealed that the big centre back “might” have played his last game for the club as he is on the radar of Jose Mourinho and a deal for the 22-year old player could well be on the cards.
The German defender has garnered a lot of attention since he broke into the Bundesliga side’s first-team and Chelsea have reportedly kept tabs on the player. Apart from Chelsea, West Ham United and Monaco have also shown interest in the defender, but the club were unwilling to sell him at that time.
Benjamin Ippoliti, the player’s agent revealed recently: “Many clubs have approached us to learn more about Antonio, including FC Porto, AS Monaco, West Ham and several British teams.
“The player has a contract with Stuttgart until 2017, so any interested club will first have to speak with the club and only after that will we begin to evaluate our opportunities.”
Antonio Rudiger may not be the most well-known German defender, but what he may be is the heir apparent in a line of world class defensemen that includes Mats Hummels
and Per Mertesacker. At just 22-years of age, he’s already making quite the name for himself, and his Bundesliga club, Stuttgart, has admitted that their is no way they can keep hold of a player of his quality.
As a defender who’s only 22, on the rise, relatively cheap (10 million pounds), would be an ideal buy for Chelsea, Rudiger with his physicality (the list goes on),will seem a sure fire bet and a worthy replacement for ageing captain John Terry.
