The End Of Diego Costa? Guus Hiddink Very Keen On Jackson Martinez

John Obi MikelDespite the recent form of Diego Costa, Chelsea are yet unrelenting in their search of a striker as Hiddink looks to push for fourth place in this second half of this season.

Report have making the rounds in the British media wave is in the claim that Chelsea are keen on landing Atletico Madrid goal poacher Jackson Martinez, as confirmed by his agent Henrique Pompei.

Since moving from FC Porto to Atletico Madrid, the 29-year-old Colombia international has found it difficult to adapt to life at the Vicente Calderon and he admitted to being frustrated. Hiddink has lost faith in Falcao and he is keen on using Martinez as a back up for Costa.

Meanwhile, was quizzed about a probable move to Chelsea for the player and he admitted the truth in Chelsea’s interest.

‘Jackson wants to succeed at Atletico, but it’s the club who will decide his future,’ said Pompei.

I can’t say [Chelsea’s interest] is a lie, this is football and no-one knows what will happen in the future.’

Since moving to the La Liga, Martinez has failed to shine and has been reduced to a fringe player by Diego Simeone. He has featured in 13 La Liga games for the Los Blancos this term but five of his cameos have been from the bench.

In other reports, Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has revealed that he is willing to let the player if the right offer comes for him but it seems Martinez wants to stay put at Atletico until the end of this season.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have not lost since Hiddink took over at the helms and there the obvious need of back ups for Costa.
