Why Raheem Sterling Will Be Justified To Join Chelsea

As Steven Gerrard exits the EPL at the end of the season, it will be on record that he never won an EPL title in 17 years of playing in the league. Loyalty over everything, the Liverpool skipper once rejected a Chelsea move, and he chose to stay at Anfield. But Raheem Sterling isn’t following in that path, he so much desires a league title, and 5th-placed Liverpool doesn’t look like a team that can contend for the trophy even having after missed out on it narrowly last season.

France 98 world cup winner and Chelsea great, Marcel Desailly says the England international’s sole aim of wanting to leave Liverpool is for a League title. The one-time Blues defender says,

“He must have his own reason. He feels that to grow he needs to go to a different club. He feels that where he is, even if it is at big Liverpool, he’ll end up being like Gerrard after 10 years not winning the Premier League. It is his own feeling.”

The young prodigy has been linked with a move to Chelsea, following his refusal to accept a new offer worth 100,000 pounds weekly. Although he has a deal at the Anfield until 2017. But it is expected that the 20 year-old will tell Coach Rodgers of his desire to leave once contract talks resume any moment from now. The Liverpool young player of the year awardee was even subject to jeers and boos on Tuesday night during the awards ceremony by Liverpool’s faithful, but it doesn’t seem that will be enough to deter him from leaving.

Liverpool aren’t keen on letting the winger go, but they could be selling him for 50 million pounds if he insists on leaving. Manchester City and Arsenal are also interested in the services of the skilled forward. A move to Chelsea will likely happen as the pensioners would be eager to bring in to Stamford bridge once Liverpool allows him to leave.
