Willian – “My Style Of Play Would Suit The Premier League”

Willian Borges de Silva, more commonly known as Willian, plays for Shakhtar Donetsk in the Ukrainian Premier League. The attacking midfielder has been in London recently, not to sign for Chelsea or Arsenal, but to shop for baby clothes with his wife.

Perhaps he has an ulterior motive for visiting London, and is maybe making clubs like Chelsea aware that he is around. He has been speaking to the Daily Mail and his words make for interesting reading. He said, “I would love to play in England. The league is one of the best and there are some great clubs here. Clubs with big players who play attractive football.”

He went on to say, “I like Chelsea and Arsenal’s style a lot. I’d be very happy to play for Tottenham too and help them get back into the Champions League. They’re a very big club.”

He sounds a very confident young man and he finished off by saying. “I think my style of play would suit the Premier League. I like London a lot. Lots of shops and restaurants. It’s like Sao Paulo.

Willian is now 23 and is entering the final year of a five year contract at Shakhtar Donetsk. He helped his club reach the quarter-finals of last seasons Champions League with some useful performances. It sounds as though he would welcome a move, but it appears as though the Chelsea have set their sights on other players, but they could do worse and take a look at Willian.
