Brazilian wonderkid: "I'm moving to Chelsea"

Fluminense right-back Wallace has confirmed that his move to Champions League holders Chelsea is imminent.

Chelsea are rumoured to own a 40% stake in the player as part of the deal that took Deco back to Brazil, and Chelsea have been keeping tabs on him ever since.

Wallace said: ‘It’s always helpful having Brazilian team-mates playing alongside you, as they normally are settled down, so they can give you some advice and this is important, even regarding language.

‘Now that I’m moving to London I’ll have to learn some English but they are used to this and they will surely help me a lot.

‘I used to follow the Spanish league and its big clubs like Real Madrid but now as I’m moving to Chelsea I’m following the club more closely, especially after the Champions League title.

‘I watch Chelsea games whenever I can, sometimes I can’t watch because I’m playing or concentrated with my team, but I don’t miss a chance to see them playing on TV.’

The player is thought to be brought straight into the senior squad as competition for Azpilicueta, with Ivanovic tipped to return to a more central role.

I’m always pleased to hear of Chelsea recruiting top young players, and am looking forward to the January transfer window as I sense there is going to be a lot of movement. I expect Chelsea to be looking at left-backs, centre-backs and strikers in the coming months, with a striker (or two) needed in January. Who do you expect to see in a Chelsea shirt by February?
