Abramovich plans to tempt Falcao with tour of London and Chelsea's facilities

Chelsea billionaire owner Roman Abramovich is hoping to persuade Radamel Falcao to sign for Chelsea with a tour of the team’s training facilities, and a further tour of London.

Chelsea are rumoured to be pulling out all the stops to sign the FIFA World Team XI nominee, and It is feared the Blues would miss out on the striker if they tried to wait until the summer for his signature.

The Columbian out-and-out striker has a £48million minimum fee release clause in his contract, and Athletico have told him that they do not want him to join arch-rivals Real Madrid. This leaves Chelsea as firm favourites for his signature, with Manchester City having ruled themselves out of the running.

Roman Abramovich has sounded out that he would make Falcao the West Londoner’s highest earner, with a huge £10M a year on offer, over £20k a week more than Fernando Torres currently receives.

Fernando has failed to convince so far this term, having had a barren spell of two months that ended with a brace in Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Sunderland 2 weeks ago. Chelsea fans are still unconvinced the striker still has the goods to hold down the lone-striker role on his own.

Falcao has been linked with Chelsea since Andre Villas-Boas became manager 18 months ago, but their interest increased five-fold when the player netted a superb hat-trick in the European Super Cup against Chelsea, and has excelled for Athletico, with 43 goals in his 50 Primera Liga appearances.

I would love to see Falcao join us, and force Torres to play for his spot. I believe they could even work together, and having 2 world-class strikers can only be a plus. Having Falcao would also allow us to be less predictable, playing two strikers would mean a change in formation and would not have to be permanent. Go get him Roman!
