It seems that the appointment of Roy Hodgson has not been enough to keep Fernando Torres at Liverpool, and it looks like the debt-ridden club are preparing to cash in on their star player after the World Cup, and Chelsea are named by Sky Sports as the most likely buyers.
Torres is desperate to play Champions League football, which immediately ruled out Man City, despite them being the only other club in England that could afford to buy the Spain international. His agent Jose Antonio Martin said: “It is very likely that Fernando Torres will stay in the Premier League, but I cannot say that it will be with Liverpool. We are working on his future but right now you cannot guarantee that he will stay with the English club.”
Barcelona were thought to be the most likely challengers to Chelsea for Torres’ signature, but Jose Martin said that that connection was dead and buried: “It is ruled out,” he said. “Barcelona have signed David Villa and now they want to invest the money they have in other players.”
With Drogba and Anelka getting on in years, Torres would be a brilliant addition to Chelsea’s front line, and set them up for another tilt at the Champions League next season.

***At last! A flying car!!***
seems to make sense and perhaps suggest why chelsea have been relatively quiet up until now. I cant see torres leaving liverpool to go to man city as they would be as unpredictable as liverpool at the moment, chelsea on the other hand are at the top right now and would clearily be fighting for the epl and champions league.
