The Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti saw his team go a fourth game in a row without winning, but insisted that he will not be looking for reinforcements in the January transfer window.
The Italian watched Didier Drogba add two more goals to his amazing tally this season, with Anelka getting the other one, but he is still certain that Chelsea have the squad to cope for the month that Drogba will be away at the African Nations Cup.
“I am happy because Chelsea played very well for 90 minutes but I am unhappy with the result, we didn’t win,” said Ancelotti.
“When you play like Chelsea played today you deserve to win. We didn’t win, we made mistakes on the set plays and if I have to look at the team we played very well for 90 minutes. We created a lot of chances to score and we were unlucky today.”
“In January I would like to say for the last time we won’t try for anybody, of this I am 100 per cent sure,”
“I don’t lose any trust in my players and in my team.” he continued.
“I am more than happy that we have a point rather than see a team without intensity or without concentration.
“I don’t have to say anything of my players because they did the maximum today”
Despite dropping two points at home, Chelsea move one point further clear at the top of the table thanks to Aston Villa’s massive win at Old Trafford. And as the Spuds lost too, it wasn’t such a bad day after all!
