Ancelotti – Alex, Cech, Bosingwa and Drogba won't start against Man Utd

The Community Shield is looming just a week away, and Carlo Ancelotti is not happy at all with the fitness of his team so close to the start of the season. Luckily Chelsea’s opening League games are not against the best teams so hopefully it will give the squad time to regain their fitness, but it looks like we can only expect a training match mentality against United on Sunday.

Ancelotti says that he will start with most of the team that began the match against Hamburg in midweek, as he had said before the game in Germany.

“It will be the same team, I have to choose the goalkeeper but I think that Hilario will start,” Ancelotti said. “The other players will be the same as the game against Hamburg.

“Available to play is Sturridge, Drogba will start from the bench, and Alex, Cech and Bosingwa are out for this game.

“I think that the players that came back from the World Cup are not fit 100 per cent but they need to play so for this reason the Portuguese players and the English players are able to play and I will put them on the pitch on Sunday.

“We have Cech injured, but we have Hilario and Turnbull and we want to have trust in these players. They did a mistake in the last games, we are unhappy for this, but we maintain trust because in the next game has to play Hilario, who has had good matches, and we have trust in him.”

“I think that for both teams it is an important game, because it is a very important check for the season and we want to look how our condition is, and also because against Manchester United is never an easy game.

“We want to do our best – Manchester United could be the most important opponent this season, like they were last season.

“For this I think that we need to come back to win because we lost too many games, friendly games, but we are not happy to lose. We have to come back to win and start well.”
