The new Chelsea coach has announced that he is very happy with the squad at his disposal, and has no interest in bringing in or selling anyone at all.
Daniel Sturridge, Ross Turnbull and Yuri Zhirkov have been added to the team already, and Ancelotti explained that he has no room for any more arrivals.
“We stay with these players,” he said.
“I don’t want to take other players because I think that the squad is very competitive at Chelsea. We don’t need other players,”
He then added that, despite Jose Mourinho’s complaints about Chelsea raising the price of Deco and Carvalho when Inter made an offer, he never really wanted to sell two such important players.
“We never thought to sell Carvalho and Deco. They are important players for Chelsea. Carvalho is a very intelligent defender and Deco has great quality and the team needs this,” Ancelotti said.
“Now we don’t have the idea to sell any players. If a player is not happy to stay with us then they have to tell us but no player has asked to leave.”
It looks like Chelsea have great strength in depth in their squad now, and the only thing that needs to be proved now is that they have made the right choice as manager.
Everything seems to be going to plan so far, and a good showing against Man Utd tomorrow may convince the doubters that Ancelotti is a capable replacement for Guus Hiddinck.
