Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti’s believes that the show-down between Chelsea and Manchester United at Old Trafford this coming Sunday comes at the perfect time for the Blues. The Italian manager believes that Chelsea are in the perfect form to take on the Red Devils and that the momentum is with his side.
Ancelotti was quoted on goal.com as saying: “You need to use character and personality to play this match. Both teams have that, but it is the momentum. It is the best moment to play there because now our condition is good and the momentum is also. But obviously it will not be easy to play there”.
Chelsea overcame Tottenham and Manchester United lost to Arsenal this weekend, meaning that Chelsea are only three points behind the Premier League leaders. If Chelsea beat United they will go top of the league on goal difference.
The 51-year-old’s position at Chelsea is still up in the air, even if they do manage to win the Premiership again. Abramovich’s will to win the Champions League is such that the relatively early exit from the competition may not be able to be compensated for with another league title. But Ancelotti will do his utmost to end the season on a high note, wherever his future lies.
