The Chelsea defender Ashley Cole has put pen to paper on a new contract worth £25m over 4 years. That means he will take home £120,000 a week at the Bridge and keep him there until the end of his career.
There were rumours over the summer that both Barcelona and Real Madrid were going to try and poach him as he entered the last year of his contract, but this new deal will confirm that he will be staying in London for the forseeable future.
Chelsea have been very busy this summer making sure that they don’t lose any of their top names, and this signing follows on from Drogba, Malouda, Joe Cole and John Obi Mikel, who have also committed themselves to the Blues recently.
The England international left-back is regarded as one of the best in the world and his status is now reflected in his paypacket!
